No matter, how much rich you are, you can’t live without water. It is not only alarm bells for Chennai, but now will be spread others states also in India if not taking any step by us today. Many times here people aware and release reports by the govt. and other agencies regarding environment protection, water crises, and drought and so on. The situation is already so pathetic and worse than earlier.
But somehow we are lacking or we can say failure to provide and maintain equilibrium between environments, industrialization and human beings. So that the result, what we are facing today. Because of we the people still snoozing zone and directly responsible for that.
Whatsoever, that solution will be better than talking about the issues blab blab. Even though we are not able to tackle the issue completely, but government, other agencies, community, NGO, etc implementing the various technique, projects, plan, schemes for tackling the issue with their own level. And other aspects we can learn from Gandhi’s life. In 1909 in his book ‘Hind Swaraj’ he cautioned mankind against unrestricted industrialism and materialism. He did not want India to follow the west in this regard and warned that if India, with its vast population, tried to imitate the west than the resources of the earth will not be enough. He argued even in 1909 that industrialization and machines have an adverse effect on the health of people. Although he was not opposed to machines as such; he definitely opposed the large scale use of machinery. He criticized people for polluting the rivers and other water bodies. He criticized mills and factories for polluting the air with smoke and noise. He also believed that one must be the change that one wants to see in the world and hence he practiced what he preached. His life was his message. Even when he used to bathe with water of free-flowing Sabarmati River he consciously used only the minimum water needed for taking bath.
So, these issues are occurring not only present scenario but also upcoming same issues which we must have to ready for facing that. The solution in our own hand whatever we want that will become one day defiantly.
